Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies
Celebrate Your Business in Mid-Maine!
Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce invites you to celebrate your business's milestones like grand openings, expansions, or renovations with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. These events are a fantastic way to showcase your innovation, connect with the community, and network with local business owners.
Everyone is welcome to attend and see the exciting developments happening in mid-Maine!

Setting the Date: Contact Cindy Stevens at 207-873-3315 or cindy@midmainechamber.com at least 3 weeks in advance to check for calendar conflicts and set your preferred date.
Time: Ceremonies happen Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For the best attendance, Tuesdays through Thursdays in the mid-to-late afternoon are usually ideal.
Invitations: While not required, sending out your own invitations can boost attendance. The Chamber will also help by sending reminders to VIPs (like media and elected officials) and promoting your event on social media and through email.

Supplies & Photos: We'll provide the ribbon, large ceremonial scissors, and the photographer. Just pick a spot for photos at your business and we'll post them on social media!
The Ceremony Itself: A typical ribbon cutting takes about 30 minutes. It's important to start on time. A common schedule is:
- Arrival & Optional Welcome: (around 3:00 p.m.)
- Pictures & Ribbon Cutting: (around 3:15-3:30 p.m.)
- Refreshments & Networking: (around 3:35 p.m.)

Food: Keep it simple! Coffee and donuts in the morning, or cookies/cake and water in the afternoon are usually enough.
Publicity: We'll promote your event through email to Chamber members and in our newsletter (with enough notice). We can also help you get a list of local media if you'd like to send out your own press release.
Ribbon Cutting Sponsors: Mid-Maine Chamber has two chamber business members sponsoring these events. Their sign will be displayed at the event and in the photographs. Chamber directors, local officials and ribbon cutting sponsor representatives may be in the photo along with any other guests you may want to include.
